در این قسمت از پادکست فلای باتل، علیرضا محمودی با صفورا معینی استادیار اقتصاد دانشگاه مَنیتوبا کانادا در مورد مقاله‌اش «تأثیر ظرفیت‌های بازار کار بر تحصیلات: مطالعه موردی 'سقف استخدام زنان' در ایران»، که با همکاری آتسوکو تاناکا نوشته است گفتگو می‌کند. آن‌ها درباره پژوهش اخیر صفورا درباره شرایط بازار کار و تبعیض جنسیتی علیه زنان در مشاغل دولتی و تأثیر آن بر انتخاب تحصیلی دختران در ایران بحث می‌کنند و در نهایت، تاثیر سیاست‌های جنسیتی بازار کار در سبک زندگی نسل‌های جوان دختران و پسران در ایران را مورد بحث قرار می‌دهند.
 
صفورا معینی استاد اقتصاد دانشگاه Manitoba است. وی تحصیل در رشته علوم کامپیوتر رو ابتدا در دانشگاه یزد شروع کرد، مقطع کارشناسی ارشد اقتصاد رو در دانشگاه صنعتی شریف طی کرد و دکترای اقتصاد خودش رو از دانشگاه Calgary کانادا دریافت کرد.
 
علیرضا محمودی دانشجوی تحصیلات تکمیلی علوم رفتاری در مدرسه کسب‌وکار آدام اسمیت دانشگاه گلاسگو اسکاتلند است. او همچنین دانش‌آموخته کارشناسی اقتصاد دانشگاه فردوسی مشهد است.

فصل ۲ قسمت ۹: ادبیات تجربی و ادبیات دیجیتال در گفتگو با مهدی صداقت پیام (Season 2, Ep.9 - Mehdy Sedaghat Payam: Experimental literature and digital literature)

در این قسمت از پادکست فلای‌باتل، امیرعلی شمس با مهدی صداقت پیام پیرامون ادبیات تجربی و ادبیات دیجیتال گفتگو می‌کند. مهدی صداقت پیام تحصیلات خود را در ادبیات انگلیسی در دانشگاه یزد شروع کرد و سپس با رفتن به دانشگاه تهران مدرک کارشناسی ارشد خود را در میانه دهه هشتاد شمسی دریافت کرد. پس از فارغ التحصیلی کارهای متعددی از جمله ترجمه کتاب «زمان لرزه» اثر کرت ونه گات و تالیف کتاب «راز سکوت یا هملت به روایت خواهر شکسپیر» توسط وی انجام شده است. وی سپس با مهاجرت به نیوزلند دکترای خود را در ادبیات انگلیسی در دانشگاه ویکتوریا ادامه داد. در نهایت در سال 2014 از رساله دکتری خود با عنوان Metatextual Print Fiction in the age of digital fiction دفاع کرد. وی پس از برگشت به ایران تلاش‌های زیادی در معرفی ادبیات دیجیتال انجام داد و در همین راستا عضو هیئت علمی پژوهشکده سمت شد و در این زمان دو کتاب علوم انسانی دیجیتال و ادبیات الکترونیک را ترجمه کرد. وی برای دنبال کردن علاقمندی خود یا همان ادبیات دیجیتال دکترای دوم خود را در ادبیات تطبیقی و پیرامون ادبیات دیجیتال فارسی در دانشگاه مریلند در سال 2020 آغاز کرد و اکنون سال آخر دکتری خود را می‌گذارند. تمرکز وی در دکترای اول در دانشگاه ویکتوریا برقراری ارتباط بین ادبیات تجربی و ادبیات الکترونیک است. جایی که با بروز دنیای دیجیتال، بنظر می‌رسیده که کتاب چاپی با استقبال کمتری روبرو شود. اما ادبیات تجربی با استفاده از مادیت کتاب چاپی آثار جالبی را عرضه کرده‌اند و در عصر دیجیتال ادبیات تجربی توسعه بیشتری نیز پیدا کرده‌اند. مهدی در دکترای دوم خود سعی در جمع‌آوری پایگاه اطلاعاتی جامعی برای دیجیتال کردن ادبیات فارسی دارد که تا پایان دکتری آن را به صورت رایگان در اختیار علاقمندان قرار خواهد داد. 
مهدی صداقت پیام نویسنده، مترجم و پژوهشگر حوزه ادبیات دیجیتال است. در حال حاضر وی دانشجوی ادبیات تطبیقی در دانشگاه مریلند ایالات متحده با تمرکز بر ادبیات دیجیتال فارسی است.  
امیرعلی شمس، دانش آموخته مهندسی مکانیک از دانشگاه واترلو کانادا است. علاقمندی وی به تاریخ و ادبیات معاصر ایران سبب شده که در پادکست مگس در بطری میزبان پژوهشگران این حوزه باشد.

In this episode of the fly-bottle podcast, Amirali Shams talks to Mehdy Sedaghat Payam. He started his education in English literature in Iran and received his Master's from the University of Tehran. After learning about experimental and digital literature he decided to continue his education in New Zealand, where he received his Ph.D. in experimental print fiction and digital literature from Victoria University of Wellington in 2014. In order to introduce digital humanities in the Iranian context, he translated a book about it which was published in 2018 by SAMT Publications. When he was translating that book he realized that he needed to gain more expertise to apply quantitative methods for literary analysis of the pre-modern Persian texts. Therefore he decided to come to the University of Maryland where world-famous scholars in digital humanities and Persian literature have already started the Persian digital humanities project. 
 
Mehdy Sedaghat Payam is an author, translator, and researcher in digital literature and digital humanities. Mehdy is a published novelist and his first novel, The Secret of Silence, or Hamlet According to Shakespeare’s Sister was published by Morvarid Publications in 2009. He also translated some works from postmodernist authors like John Barth and Kurt Vonnegut in Farsi. He is now a PhD researcher in Persian digital humanities at the University of Maryland. 
 
Amirali Shams graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2021. He has a passion for modern history and literature of Iran.

در این قسمت از پادکست فلای باتل، علیرضا محمودی با محسن جاودانی دانشیار اقتصاد دانشگاه سایمون فریزر کانادا در مورد مقاله‌اش «چه کسی گفت یا چه گفت؟ تخمین تعصب ایدئولوژیک در دیدگاه‌های اقتصاددانان، که با همکاری ها-جون چانگ نوشته شده است. این مقاله شواهدی تجربی ارائه می‌کند مبنی بر اینکه اقتصاددانان سوگیری ایدئولوژیک را در ارزیابی اظهارات نشان می‌دهند، که با عینیت ادراک خود ایشان در تضاد است.
 
جاودانی و چانگ با نظرسنجی از بیش از 2400 اقتصاددان در سراسر جهان، دریافتند که فارغ از محتوا، انتساب منبع به طور قابل توجهی بر موافقت اقتصاددانان با گزاره‌های اقتصادی تأثیر می‌گذارد.

In this episode of the Fly Battle podcast, Alireza Mahmoudi talks with Professor Mohsen Javdani about his paper “Who said or what said? Estimating ideological bias in views among economists,” co-authored with Ha-Joon Chang. The paper provides empirical evidence that economists exhibit ideological bias in evaluating statements, contradicting their self-perceived objectivity.
 
Using a randomized experiment surveying over 2400 economists globally, Javdani and Chang find that source attribution significantly impacts reported agreement with economic claims. Statements from mainstream sources elicit greater concurrence than identical statements attributed to ideologically divergent economists. This points to unconscious ideological leanings influencing assessments.
 
Delving into the paper’s analysis, Alireza and Mohsen discuss how implicit biases related to research areas, backgrounds, and schools of thought shape economic thought. The conversation calls for a more transparent diversity of perspectives among economists to serve society’s vast interests. A compelling examination of how subjective bias penetrates the field of economics, challenging assumptions of neutrality.
 
Mohsen Javdani is an associate professor of economics at the School of Public Policy & Urban Studies at Simon Fraser University. He obtained his doctoral degree in economics from SFU in 2012.

در این قسمت از پادکست فلای‌باتل، امیرعلی شمس با امیر خادم پیرامون روایت‌گری تروما در سه جغرافیای متفاوت گفتگو می‌کند. گفتگو با مسیری که امیر با آغاز تحصیلات دانشگاهی طی کرده، شروع می‌شود و با تغییر رشته وی به ادبیات و در ادامه مهاجرت امیر به کانادا ادامه می‌یابد. اما تمرکز در این گفتگو، رساله دکتری امیر با عنوان: درد درونی و ترومای همه‌گیر: ساخت یک خاطره جمعی در ایران معاصر، فلسطین و ایالات متحده است که وی در سال 2017 در دانشگاه آلبرتا از آن دفاع کرده است. امیر در این گفتگو بیان می‌کند که چرا به سه جغرافیای ایران، فلسطین و ایالات متحده پرداخته و این سه منطقه چه روایت‌گری خاصی از تروما داشته‌اند. رساله امیر به درک این موضوع کمک می‌کند که چگونه روایت‌گری تروما از صرف مرور یک تجربه دردناک به یک بیانیه سیاسی می‌تواند تبدیل شود.

In this episode of the Fly-Bottle podcast, Amirali Shams talks to Amir Khadem about his journey beginning from his academic education back in Iran and after migrating to Canada where he started his PhD in the University of Alberta in the department of comparative literature. In his PhD thesis entitled “Endemic Pains and Pandemic Traumas: The Narrative Construction of Public Memory in Iran, Palestine, and the United States“, Amir selected three different geographical regions as “Three Patterns of Trauma Emplotment” which all have an interesting narration of the Trauma. Finally, Amirali asked Amir about his other activities such as producing the popular podcast “Reading Ferdowsi”, his website and his role in “Naghzo Nik” e-journal.
 
Amir Khadem graduated in comparative literature from the University of Alberta in 2017. His popular podcast “Reading Ferdowsi” made him very famous among Iranian podcast listeners. He’s done numerous researches over history and literature of Iran which could be found online and in his published works.

فصل ۲، قسمت ۵: نهادهای انتخاباتی و مشکل منبع مشاع در ایران در گفتگو با سعید ملک الساداتی (Season 2, Ep.5- Saeed Malek Sadati: Electoral Institutions and Common Pool Problem in Iran

در این قسمت از پادکست فلای باتل، علیرضا محمودی با سعید ملک ساداتی استادیار اقتصاد دانشگاه فردوسی مشهد گفتگو می‌کند. در این گفتگو، پس از معرفی مهمان برنامه و مروری بر تحصیلات آکادمیک سعید، وی منبع مشاع یا اشتراکی را تعریف کرده و نقش نمایندگان پارلمان در برداشت و یا تخصیص این منابع را صورت‌بندی می‌کند. وی در ادامه، این موضوع را مطرح می‌کند که قوانین فعلی انتخاباتی ایران چرا و به چه صورت به مشکل منبع مشاع دامن می‌زند. در این راستا وی نقش سیاست‌های بودجه‌ای فعلی ایران، تصویب شده توسط نمایندگان مجلس ایران که با قوانین فعلی انتخاباتی، انتخاب شده‌اند را حائز اهمیت می‌داند. سپس سعید با تعریف فدرالیسم بودجه‌ای و تعریف کردن مدل انتخاباتی که هسته اصلی پایان‌نامه دکترای وی را تشکیل می‌دهد چگونگی کاهش مشکل منبع مشاع را تشریح می‌کند. مدل مطرح شده توسط سعید به طور کلی پیش‌بینی می‌کند که در صورت اعمال فدرالیسم اقتصادی با تغییر قانون انتخاباتی فعلی و افزوده شدن مجلس دیگری برای طرح‌های کلان ملی, منبع مشاع کاهش و در عین حال پاسخگویی افزایش پیدا می‌کند. این امر البته از نظرگاه سیاسی نیازمند مطالعه جداگانه‌ای است. 
 
سعید ملک الساداتی استاد اقتصاد دانشگاه فردوسی مشهد است. وی دکترای خود را در رشته اقتصاد در سال 1392 خورشیدی با کار بر روی نهادهای انتخاباتی و مشکل منبع مشاع در بودجه عمرانی ایران دریافت کرد. وی دانش‌آموخته کارشناسی از دانشگاه فردوسی و همچنین فارغ‌التحصیل کارشناسی ارشد از دانشگاه علامه طباطبایی، هر دو در رشته اقتصاد است.

In this episode of the Fly Battle podcast, Alireza Mahmoudi talks with Saeed Malek-Sadati, assistant professor of economics at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. In this conversation, after introducing the guest and reviewing Saeed's academic background, they discuss and define common or shared resources and formulate the role of the parliament representatives in resource allocation. Furthermore, Saeed raises the issue of how current electoral laws in Iran affect the problem of shared resources and explains why and how they pose challenges. In this context, he emphasizes the importance of Iran's current budgetary policies, approved by the parliamentarians who were elected under the existing electoral laws. Saeed then discusses the concept of budgetary federalism and outlines the electoral model that forms the core of his doctoral thesis, explaining how it can alleviate the issue of shared resources. 
Saeed's proposed model generally predicts that the application of economic federalism, along with changes in the current electoral laws and the addition of another parliament for national macroeconomic policies, can reduce the problem of shared resources while increasing accountability. However, this matter requires further political consideration.
 
Saeed Malek Sadati is an economics professor at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. He obtained his doctoral degree in economics in 2013, focusing on electoral institutions and the issue of shared resources in Iran's development budget.

فصل ۲، قسمت ۴: دولت، بازار و نظام سلامت: یک نگاه انسان‌شناسانه درگفتگو با مزدک دانشور (Season 2, Ep.4- Mazdak Daneshvar: State, Market, and Healthcare System: An Anthropological Perspective)

در این قسمت از پادکست فلای باتل، یگانه خزاعی با مزدک دانشور، پزشک، انسان‌شناس پزشکی و پژوهشگر رشته تاریخ اجتماعی در دانشگاه لیدن هلند گفتگو کرده است. آن‌ها از بحث دربارهٔ تاریخ دولت و نسبت آن با نظام سلامت در ایران صحبت می‌کنند و سپس به چالش کالایی شدن، بازار آزاد و نولیبرالیسم در نظام سلامت می‌پردازند که پیش‌تردکتر دانشوردر کتاب «سلامت سوسیالیستی در مناظره با نئولیبرالیسم؛ جستارهایی انتقادی در انسان‌شناسی پزشکی و سلامت» به آن پرداخته بود. در انتها هم برخی راه‌حل ها برای برون‌رفت از بحران نابرابری مضاعف در نظام سلامت ایران را بررسی می‌کنند. 
مزدک دانشور پس از پایان تحصیلات در دانشکده پزشکی دانشگاه تهران به دانشگاه آمستردام رفته و در آنجا انسان‌شناسی پزشکی خواند و سپس دکترا را در رشته تاریخ اجتماعی در دانشگاه لیدن هلند ادامه داد. موضوع اصلی پژوهش او در دانشگاه تقاطع و برخورد مساله بدن و درد و سپس بازنمایی فرهنگی این پدیده است. علاوه بر این او در حوزه نظام سلامت در ایران، تغییرات حاصل آمده از روند نئولیبرال در این نظام و مساله نابرابری در نهادهای پزشکی و البته سطح جامعه پرداخته است و یادداشت‌ها و مقالاتی منتشر کرده است. 
یگانه خزاعی دندانپزشک و اپیدمیولوژیست و پژوهشگر در دانشگاه لودویگ ماکسیمیلیان مونیخ آلمان است. او همچنین دانشجوی دکترا در دانشکده دندانپزشکی دانشگاه ملبورن استرالیا در حوزه تحلیل داده‌های مایکروبایوم می‌باشد.

In this episode of the Fly Battle podcast, Yeganeh Khazaei talks with Mazdak Daneshvar, a physician, medical anthropologist, and researcher in the field of social history at Leiden University in the Netherlands. They discuss the history of the state and its relationship with the healthcare system in Iran. They also delve into the challenges of commodification, the free market, and neoliberalism in the healthcare system, topics that Dr. Daneshvar had previously explored in his book "Socialist Health In the Debate with Neoliberalism; Critical Essays in Medical Anthropology and Health". In the end, they examine some solutions for addressing the compounded inequality crisis in Iran's healthcare system.
Mazdak Daneshvar completed his studies at Tehran University Medical School and then went on to Amsterdam University where he studied medical anthropology and pursued his doctoral studies in social history at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The main topic of his research at the university is the intersection and collision of the issue of body and pain and the cultural representation of this phenomenon. Additionally, he has focused on changes in the healthcare system in Iran, brought about by the neoliberal trend in this system, and the issue of inequality within medical institutions and society as a whole, and has published numerous notes and articles about it.
Yaganeh Khazai is a dentist, epidemiologist, and researcher at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. She is also a Ph.D. candidate at the dental faculty of Melbourne University of Australia with a focus on microbiome data analysis.

در این قسمت از پادکست فلای باتل، سروش معروضی با سینا بدیعی استادیار و عضو مرکز والراس-پارتو در دانشگاه لوزان گفتگو میکند. در این گفتگو، سینا ابتدا کمی دربارهٔ پیشینه و تحصیلاتش و تکامل مسیر پژوهشی و فکری‌اش می گوید. سپس، سروش پرسش‌هایی دربارهٔ دوگانهٔ اقتصاد قضاوتی (هنجاری) و غیرقضاوتی (پوزیتیو یا اثباتی) در تاریخ عقاید اقتصادی مطرح می کند که پیش‌تر سینا دربارهٔ آن کتاب‌ها و مقالات متنوعی نوشته است. سینا با نقد دیدگاه‌های طیف متنوعی از اقتصاددانان چپ و راست، که به طور مشخص شامل مارکس، میزس و فریدمن می‌شود، استدلال می‌کند که نمی توان اقتصاد قضاوتی را به طور کلی به اقتصاد اثباتی فروکاست.

In this episode of the Fly-Bottle podcast, Soroush Marouzi talks to Sina Badiei, assistant professor and research associate of the Walras-Pareto Center at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. During their conversation, Sina first discusses his diverse academic background. He began as an undergrad student of engineering in the UK and his academic journey takes him to research and studies in the fields of philosophy, history of science, and economics in the UK, Iran, and France. Soroush then asks Sina about his ongoing work on the dichotomy of normative vs. positive in the history of economic thought. Offering a critique of major theorists of both left- and right-wing economics, figures such as Marx, Mises, and Friedman, Sina points to the dangers of misrepresenting normative economics as positive economics. 
 
Sina Badiei is a Lecturer (Premier assistant) and a Research Officer (Chargé de recherche) at the Centre Walras-Pareto of the University of Lausanne, and Director of Program in the Philosophy and Human Sciences Department at the Collège International de Philosophie (Université Paris Lumières). His PhD dissertation from Université Toulouse won the 2022 Best Dissertation Prize of the “Association Charles Gide pour l’Étude de la Pensée Économique”, awarded to the best dissertation on the history, epistemology or philosophy of economics.
 
Soroush Marouzi is a graduate of a doctoral degree at the Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology of the University of Toronto. Currently, he is a research fellow at the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University.

 علیرضا طاهری روان‌درمانگر و عضو انجمن روانکاوی تورنتو است. او پس از تحصیل در دانشگاه های تورنتو، اسکس و کالج دانشگاهی لندن، دکترای خود در زمینهٔ فلسفه و تاریخ علم را از دانشگاه کمبریج دریافت کرد. او علاوه بر روان‌درمانی به روش روانکاوی، به طور فعال در تدریس نظریه لاکان در موسسه و جامعه روانکاوی تورنتو مشارکت دارد. علیرضا یکی از اعضای هیئت علمی روانکاوی پرسای (پرسپولیس) است که در آن تئوری و عمل روانکاوی را به دانشجویان در ایران آموزش می دهد. علیرضا اخیراً یک تک‌نگاری با انتشارات راتلج با عنوان «سویه‌های هگلی-لاکانی درباره مدرنیته متأخر: شبح جنون» منتشر کرده است که در آن نظریه‌ای دیالکتیکی بدیعی بر اساس خوانش‌های هگل، لاکان و ژیژک توسعه داده است. تحقیقات فعلی او بر نظریه های لاکان دربارهٔ روان‌پریشی متمرکز است. او همچنین در حال توسعه مفهوم ماتریالیسم شبحی است که به عقیدهٔ او مهمترین دستاویز برای حفاظت از مدرنیته در مواجهه با رویکردهای ارتجاعی است.

In this talk, Alireza Taheri will provide an introduction to Lacanian topology and its implications for philosophy and psychoanalysis. 
Alireza Taheri is a member of the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. He provides psychoanalytic psychotherapy in a private practice in Toronto where he is also actively involved in teaching Lacanian theory at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Institute and Society. Alireza is a faculty member of PersPsy (Persepolis Psychoanalytic) through which he teaches psychoanalytic theory and practice to students in Tehran (Iran). He is also engaged in writing articles and books on philosophy, psychoanalysis, film and literature. Alireza has recently published a monograph with Routledge entitled Hegelian-Lacanian Variations on Late Modernity: Spectre of Madness where he develops a novel dialectical theory based on readings of Hegel, Lacan, and Žižek. His current research focuses on Lacanian theories of psychosis. He is also currently developing the concept of spectral materialism as the highest guarantee for the safeguarding of modernity in the face of contemporary regressions to the premodern.

در این قسمت، مریم کریمی با دکتر آصف بیات دربارهٔ انقلاب‌های عربی و ناکامی‌های آنها در دستیابی به اصلاحات دموکراتیک در سطح دولت گفتگو می کند. دکتر بیات به تغییرات اجتماعی مثبتی که در نتیجهٔ این جنبش‌ها بوجود آمده است اشاره می‌کند. او با اشاره به تغییر دینامیک قدرت و سلسله مراتب اجتماعی در میان توده‌های مردم و گروه‌های به حاشیه رانده شده، از جمله زنان، کارگران و جوانان اشاره می کند و نمونه‌هایی را از تلاش مردم برای رسیدن به جامعه دموکراتیک و عادلانه تر بیان می کند.
آصف بیات استاد جامعه شناسی و استاد کرسی کاترین و بروس باستین در مطالعات جهانی و ترا-ملیتی در دانشکده جامعه شناسی در دانشگاه ایلینوی در اُربانا-شمپین است. قبل از پیوستن به این دانشگاه، دکتر بیات سال ها در دانشگاه آمریکایی قاهرۀ مصر تدریس کرده و به عنوان مدیر مؤسسۀ بین المللی برای مطالعۀ اسلام در جهان مدرن صاحب کرسی جامعه و فرهنگ خاورمیانۀ جدید در دانشگاه لیدن هلند بوده است. همچنین، وي در دانشگاه‌ها و کالج های کاليفرنيا بركلی، كلمبيا، آكسفورد و براون نيز استاد مهمان بوده است. وي همچنين عضو ارشد  «مؤسسۀ پژوهش‌های تجربی دربارهٔ همبستگی و مهاجرت در دانشگاه هومبولت برلین است.
مریم کریمی معمار و دانش‌آموختهٔ دکتری فلسفه هنرهای بصری در دانشگاه یورک کاناداست. پیش از پیوستن به یورک، مریم در دانشگاه واترلو به تحصیل معماری پرداخته بود.

This Episode will examine the Arab revolutions of the 2010s and their shortcomings in achieving democratic reforms at the state level. Asef Bayat will discuss the positive social changes that arose as a result of these movements, specifically among grassroots and subaltern groups, including women, the poor, and marginalized youth. He argues that these struggles have intrinsic value and can serve as a foundation for building radical democratic principles from the ground up. The speaker will provide examples of how these movements have contributed to a shift in power dynamics and challenged existing hierarchies, paving the way for a more democratic and equitable society. Through this analysis, the audience will gain insight into the complexities of democratic reform in the context of Arab revolutions, and the role that grassroots movements play in shaping a more democratic future.
Asef Bayat is a Professor of Sociology, and the Catherine and Bruce Bastian Professor of Global and Transnational Studies at the Department of Sociology, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Before joining Illinois, Bayat taught at the American University in Cairo for many years and served as the director of the International Institute for the Study of Islam in the Modern World (ISIM) holding the Chair of Society and Culture of the Modern Middle East at Leiden University, The Netherlands. In the meantime, he had visiting positions at the Universality of California, Berkeley, Colombia University, Oxford, and Brown. He is also an Associate Member of the Berlin Institute for Empirical Research on Integration and Migration (BIM), Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany.)
Maryam Karimi is a graduate of a doctoral degree in philosophy, practice- based Ph.D. in visual arts at York University. She completed a Master's degree in Architecture (M.Arch.) and a Bachelor's in Architectural Science (B.Arch. Sci) from the University of Waterloo.
